If you could do it over
Knowing what you know now what motor would you put in your car or what would you do different. I think this will help me and some of the new guys out. Plus it will help me chose.

No regrets here. Why would someone regret something they did to their car when they can just do it? Such as going turbo when they decide later going N/A when you can do that....or buying a 99 EX when you wanted a 00 Si the next week?
Sell the car and buy the 99 Si. No regrets here.

Re: If you could do it over (Slow CX)
No real regrets but if I had to pick something I would have saved some more $$$ and gotten a Type R rather than the GSR. That and I would have insisted that the seller drop the price slightly because the swap wasn't complete (despite him saying it was) It was missing the shift linkage, PS pump, mid shaft, header down pipe and the axles that came with it were ****. It was also missing the clutch, a little fact that I didn't find out about untill later.

Re: If you could do it over (92sleepR)
I did do a "do it over".
had a GSR sedan, started going crazy modding it for autox and street driving.
then realized it was 700 pounds overweight and had too many accessories.. power steering, a/c etc that it made the car out of touch as far a sa race car feel is concerened.
so I bought a 92 hatch for $2000 and went nutc on it and swapped in the GSR motor, now this car is faster, more fun and more stealthy than my GSR ever was. Plus it is much cheaper to maintain and insure.

Well I was under a deadline to move 1000miles so I had to get mine done fast. If I had the time for the car to be down, I would have done a b18b with a turbo kit over the b16. I am happy with my motor though!

Would've started spending money on engine mods instead of exterior/body/lighting from the beginning and not until just the last 6 months.

Re: If you could do it over (hybridreams)
Well after selling parts off of the car I got the motor and brakes from and getting all my money back, I dont regret anything since it was pretty much "a free swap" Although I wouldnt have minded a GSR block which is soon to come

To be honest I would have save the money I spent on my swap not purchased my 92 Si and looked for a Type R, or even better yet started saving for my S2000.

Re: If you could do it over (KAMiN)
I would have taken the 5,000 bucs i had to play with after i bought my totaled gsr back from the insurance company and picked up my hatch and rebuilt the gsr engine for turbo and gone FI from the start.. then i would be running low 12's instead of high 13's - low 14's. I seriously have no idea where that 5 grand went.. someone please tell me.. I think my car ate all my money!! Ohh i wish i had a loud *** BOV that woke up the dead!!!!

hmm, If i were to do it over, I would have kept my 01 ITR, and bought a ej hatch, cvtec with 20psi. however, i am happy where i am now. i think that i am very lucky to have experienced the things i have. Alot of kids dont get to be so lucky. so for all of you. keep at it, it will come.
that taco is my tow vehicle.
You guys, work hard, the dreams will always be there. Its you who will make those dreams a reality.
Now enough of my fatherly talk.

if i could do it over..... oh gosh... where to start.... i would have never quit my job a long time ago..i would have never gotten those credit cards... i would have more money now.. and i wouldnt be in so much debt.. i would have never stopped working out.. and i would be huge now. AAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
oh wait... u mean the car..
umm.. i wouldnt have taken so long to do my swap(and would still live in dallas )but i did and now i dont. i would have not bought those rims and sold them. but went straight to the engine work. would prolly be turbo'd already... huh... oh and i wouldnt have that speeding ticket that i have now.
i know this went a lil off subject.. but u get the point.........

Re: If you could do it over (Slow CX)
I would have just boosted a stock b20 nonvtec for the time being.
Then built the **** out of it when it blew.
For all the money I have into the crvtec converion and upgrades, I could have had a really nice boosted b20 nonvtec.
Next time......next time.

Re: If you could do it over (Slow CX)
instead of starting with a 2nd gen JDM B16A, then cracking the block, then building a "poor man's ITR setup" (kept the B16A head and Y21 tranny w/LSD and found a B18C block and stuffed it w/PR3 pistons )
I would have done LS (B18B) + BOOST!!!!!!!

If I knew my car was going to be stolen, then I wouldn't have dropped the new motor and all new ****. Lets just say I lost about $4,000 because insureance wouldn't cover the swap.
Oh well, new project.

Re: If you could do it over (hybrider93)
I would've kept my 3 rd eg and swapped a GSr motor in it and put a turbo on it.
I wouldn't have sold my ITR
I would did a Sil-eighty instead of my current hybrid.

Just read my bottle credits
Or I wish I would of just made a poor mans type-r
But I'm thankful for what I have because alot of people don't have engine swaps,turbos,supercharger,nos,etc... or for that matter even a car
