IAB question
I swapped in an obd-1 gsr into my lil bro's EG. I'm using a DX harness. I wired everything up except the IAB. I had an extra harness lying around so I cut off a round 2-pin connector and just used that to plug into the IAB black box.
here's the situation:
how do I know which pin/wire goes to the ecu and which one goes to power? I hooked it up where the top pin/wire(top for me is when you look at the plug and the part you press to release the connector is on top) goes to the ecu(A17) and the bottom goes to power(yellow/black injector wire). is this right? I drove the car around and I wasn't sure the IABs were opening up. I know VTEC opens up around 4400rpm but couldn't really tell if the IABs were opening up(not sure when it opens). can't floor it around too much cause I still need to hook up the exhaust cause it's 3" short. the neighbors already heard enough of the car. TIA!

Re: IAB question (Honda Sport)
when you rev it you should be able to see the IAB move when you hit 5200+ rpm(I forgot the exact rpm, it's been awhile )

I'll give it a try.

Re: IAB question (Honda Sport)
The IAB opens up at 5750 RPM, but you don't have to rev it that high to see if it's working. The diaphragm is spring loaded and opens the IAB unless there is vacuum present in the vacuum line connected to the top of the diaphgram. When the car is idling (and anytime the engine is under 5750 RPM) there will be vacuum present and the IAB will suck closed. Abose 5750 the vacuum is cut and the spring opens the IAB. To test it, just check that the IAB gets sucked closed when the car is idling.

just checked now and it gets sucked closed. just to double check, I took off the connector and it didn't move. when I put the connector back on, it was sucked closed. thanks for the help.
