I need cam gears!
Anybody have recommendations/stories about their cam gears? I'm looking for a good set, and I'm broke as f*ck so I'd rather not buy crap... Hayashi (sp?) looks pretty good, as does AEM and DC Sports... I'm thinking more bolts = better product.
Plus, for a 1st gen B16A you get Del Sol VTEC cam gears, right?

JUN's only 3-bolt, but if you guys say it's best...
Aj - did you just order them online? I'm a little worried about this one, since they don't have 1st gen B16-specific gears like JUN does...

I was just at the races that happened in gainsville and while talking with the mechanic's with JUN I had asked them that question, of course they said thiers was the best but the guy told me the reasons behind his choice. He sounded like it was the better choice just due to some of his past experiences, but it was his point of veiw.....

Aj, the link in your sig doesn't work... maybe it needs a http:// before it? It's trying to go through honda-tech.
I don't see a set of B16 VTEC cam gears there... and I'm worrying about shipping, now .

Skunk2 I got new for my b16a on sale from Superstreet Ad for $129. EXCELLENT quality with SIX bolts. You will NOT get better perf. by spending more money for Jun, etc. Why don't you check with like Tom Fujita at http://www.portflow.com who will confirm, or KG of KGPrecision Engineering?

While it is true that JUN are not better than any other gears that DO NOT SLIP it is also true that cam gears are a very useful tool in tuning an engine. Dial in a bit more hp not alot but a little can be gained. MAYBE up to 5 if you are lucky. More or less they just give small gains on n/a engines.

well JUN is the only company that has done a COMPLETE engine build and diagnostic run down that i know of. If SkunkbudII has done **** like this then there's alot of people that don't know about it and are spending $$$ for JUN. I'm just sayin that if I had the cash then I wouldn't sacrifice anything and would go with JUN. Of all the people I know the one's running JUN parts aren't having trouble. So Toda may be less but will it cost more in the long run?? same with skunkbudII.... if you wouldn't smoke it why put it on your car???? lol.... word to betty and fred gettin it on!!!!

I would call it "the Porsche/BMW Factor". I think that people assume when they spend more they get more, like when women by Louis Vuitton handbags - they are made in the same Korean factories as the knock-offs, and cost 10x as much!!!!
Skunk2 is not the best for a lot of things but the cam gears are dead on with very precise fit, six bolts, excellent quality fit and finish as well as metal used. I can not say I would recommend their other stuff, but the cam gears excellent.
I think that if somebody was to give me free ones, I would take a Jun or Toda, maybe......
Still, your money, so if you like the logo showing, go for the gusto....
One thing that I would say, not that it matters, is that I could prob afford anything I wanted to put in the motor, but I like getting bargains on good stuff and kind of a hobby shopping for it either in looking at the ads or going to like http://www.thepartstrader.com
