which of these have more hp stock

 

i've understood that the jdm b20b is identical to the usdm b20z. The latter of which has 146hp, compared to the b18b which is at 140-142hp. However, the b20 will have more torque throughout, and apparently when you slap on the integra intake manifold and other standard boltons, you'll end up with the fly equivalent of 160hp.

ps. what i'm still trying to confirm, tho, is if all jdm b20b years have the 9.6:1 cr pistons like the b20z's here.

Initially, i had heard that all jdm b20b's (B's are all they have there) are the same as USDM b20z's. Then i read a post claiming that their '97/98 B's ARE the same as the b20b's here (lower compression, 126hp). I havn't been able to find absolute verification, either way, since then.

I have read tho, that in Jap they have the b20's in multiple cars, each with their own intake manifolds and tuning, resulting in different power figures. Even when the innards are the same.

The JDM b20B pistons are the same as the B20Z USDM. 9.6:1 compression.

The JDM B20B is basically a USDM B20Z with the earlier 'giraffe' intake manifold. That is why power is lower. But sicne you won't use this manifold, the two engines are actually equal.

 

Are ther any sites showing the jdm b20b specs?

I had heard that they had that engine in many cars there; so had several intake manifold configurations...

there are three kinds that come from JDM land:
CRV gets two kinds just like we do the difference is only in the intake but not in the compression

SMX wagon, gets a B20B with a LS intake/headers and other parts

on a dyno my buddys JDM B20B pulled:
138whp and 137lb/ft of torque all stock, running in an 93 integra RS, no mods anywhere....those things are monsters...
