how to tell...
yeah it's me again hahahah...but anyways i was wondering how to tell from jdm gsr and a usdm gsr....when i get my motor i dont wanna be stuck with a usdm and then they try to jip me by saying it's jdm...i know u can tell by the valve cover...the VTEC is bigger than the DOHC and on jdm it only says HONDA and usdm says HONDA MOTORS....any other clues u guys can give me so i'll know....cause i know they can swap the valve cover with ease....so any clues will help....thanks

you know wat i think i just found out....the most important clue that i just thought about...the stamp on the block..should say b18c not b18 and a #....but if anymore clue go ahead and send them this way...thanks

Valve covers are easy to change so never go by that. ALL USDM motors have a suffix number after the engine code. EX: a USDM GSR is a B18C1 and a USDM ITR is a B18C5. JDM motors don't use the number suffix so both the GSR and ITR are a B18C. It's still obvious to be able to tell the JDM GSR and ITR apart if you know the motors. There are other castings such as the ones on the head above the exhaust ports and other small distinctions to help identify blocks and heads.
