How restricting is Catco?
My current setup is a 92 hatch w/H22. My exhaust set-up is a 2.25" Magnaflow cat bak w/ a DC hdr. I extended the cat bak to meet with the hdr. I was thinking of adding a "high flow" Catco converter. How restricting is it really going to be?

i have a catco on my hatch w/ a gsr motor, it doesnt seem to be very restricting, its less restricting than stock, but its no test pipe...i know some people have probs w/ them, but my friend and i both have catco's and theyre fine

Just get a QTP electric cutout installed before the catylitic converter and call it a day. That way you have the best of both worlds: quiet, polution-free operation around town and raging, boner-popping power at the track because you're basically running open header.
There is no down side. <$200 shipped to your door.

I run a catco highflow cat on my EG w/ a 94 h22a motor and 2 1/4 exhaust. It feels absolutly fine and i was running open header for a lil while before i got it put on.
I think that you do loose a little bit of power, but in the long run it is well worth it.
go for it man.

I say go for a Magnaflow / Car Sound converter. Better quality and better flow. But again I do work for the company. If I hadnt seen the flow bench results myself then I may have thought otherwise.
This is of course comparing similar cats as far as pipe diameter, engine capacity, etc...
However, the difference will still be minimal and you wont tell a difference between the 2 unless your pushing a lot of power, or putting it on the dyno.
Hope my rambling helped somewhat...
