HOW TO IDENTIFY B16A SIR2
you can tell if its the sir1 or 2 by the tranny if its a hydro its the sir2 if its cable its the sir1. if theres not tranny than you tell by the year stamp on the front of the head. if it says 92-95 its the sir2 if its 88-91 its the sir1. sir1 come with 160 ponys ant the sir2 has 170. hopeit helps
well...the intake manifold is supposed to be blank... vtec on the valve cover should be larger than dohc... and if you ever have to change the headgasket the pistons should be p30 pistons.... everything else on my xsi is pr3...correct me if im wrong...mine were...

Both the above answers are wrong. They thought you were asking how to tell a 1st gen B16A from a 2nd gen B16A. The model designation SiR and SiRII have nothing to do with year.
I would ask Katman, he may know for sure. I suspect the SiRII does have an LSD as a standard equipment, but that doesn't mean the other model, the SiR didn't have one available as an option. This is an educated guess based on converstaions I had some time ago.
Transmissions that came with an LSD from Honda, have LSD written on them. Over the years of purchasing B16As from importers, I have gotten as many transmissions with LSDs installed as and after market add-on as I have with factory LSD.
