How do you "drop in" an engine?
i just finished swapping a motor out through the bottom and then in through the bottom... wasn't that bad.... if you don't have a lift, and are using jacks and jack stands, i'd definitely suggest investing in an engine dolly. mounts lined up perfectly though and it took less time then lowering it in through the top.
top and wouldnt attempt to start with out a load leveler!! ive done it with and with out the leveler and well life is alot easier and can be done with one person with the leveler
I simply remove the dash and firewall and climb in with the engine in my lap. Then I just slide it forward and the mounts line up perfect. I'm too lazy to do it any other way.

Ive always put my swaps in from the top. But my cars have all been race cars with a lot of the radiator support gone so it was a lot easier. Ive dropped the motor out once from the bottom when i didnt have a hoist, it was the d-series in my EF. I may try it from the bottom on my next install.
