My CEL has been coming on randomly during driving. Weird thing is that when I turn the car off and on...CEL goes away...but will come back later. I thought I remember some site that showed how to check the codes. BTW, can I do it with the car on?? or only with the ignition in the on position?? Thanks guys.

what kinda car is it? There should be a plug on the passenger side kind there should be a little plug, ive heard of it being grey or green but im not sure. You can put a paper clip in there making a connection between the 2 points and turn your ignition on. This will make your cel light blink......1 long blink =10 and 1 short blink = 1. Thats how you do it.
