Default help me gauge this basic swap setup-

10 years with SOHC, it's time to move on...

i was going to get a first gen JDM ITR swap, but it's entirely too much money. i mean, really...from Hmotors: 4400+260 shipping+135 dollar credit card fee he charges (not paypal, but a 3% terminal charge).

I do not want to get it from anywhere except Hmotors because they are the only ones that have a solid reputation at this point, so i am prepared to pay a little more, but please...

I was also going to consider a b16b because i've always loved them, but I think it's just not practical because of 1. the price and 2. the lack of torque with me @ 340lbs in my hatch

so i've settled on a JDM GSR obd2a with LSD transmission. He has worked out a nice deal for me on this.

I have a 3" DAC intake, and my Apexi N1 with modified (read:corrected!) b-pipe flange (due to my use of the SMSP header use on my D). I am going to run a type-r copy intake manifold, SMSP header and get the whole thing Evans-tuned with a PowerFC.

so, here are my questions- i don't want to go into the engine at all, even cams, but i am curious- what cams can i use on there w/o upgrading the springs and retainers? Crower stage 1?

what kind of power can i expect with the parts i have listed and the tuning? i'm guessing that i can eclipse 180whp w/ some healthy torque w/o getting into the engine

any idea what kind of traps something like this is capable of in the 1/4 mile? i'd guess that with me in the car, it's gotta weigh 2750-2800lbs...

I think you should be safe with about any Stage 1 cam without valvetrain upgrade... but I think 180whp might be pushin it but who knows with a nice tune!
