I'm looking for a high mileage 88-91 CRX, or a 92-95 EG hatchback. I will drive it for awhile, and save up for the swap.

I plan on a 1st gen B16A swap, maybe Y1 tranny.

Now my questions are:

Y1 tranny good choice, money or performance wise?
Will the stock CRX si ECU be useable on the B16A until chipped to kick the knockoff senor, or any other reason. Will the stock civic ECU be interchangeable.
Will I need drive axles for both choices?
Of course I will use HAsport mounts, what concerns since I most likly will do the swap myself, what suggestions do you have for me.

I would like to drag a few times, however Autocross is something I REALLY want to get into. Hopefully Skip Barber's class will teach me a **** load.

Now when I get the 1st gen b16a, what tranny would I be suggested to get!? Y1,S1 or J1? Which is better gear ratio for high RPM's? Which one is know to be stronger of the three, please help!!!
