hey he has a vid of the speedo acting weird....

this is really weird. some one help this guy get his k20a running!

its like it's ALWAYS in nuetral. linkage is hooked up fine. clutch has pressure. clutch slave is operating fine. he is positive the axles are splined completely. it goes into every gear without pushing in the clutch....

thanks yaya.. i don't know if the cel code reads correctly on the dc2 with the k20a ecu but it read number 39, what does this mean "Serial Communication Link Malfunction". is that just the link you hook up the obd2 scanner too?

I remember the first time I jacked up my K20A and spun it it only spun one wheel, although the pushing it while its in 1st is kinda weird... I had to replace my LSD about 2 drag meets later though since it decided to die..

i jacked my car up, put it in first gears. i spun the driver side tire, and the passenger side tire spun in the opposite direction. it did the samething when i spun the passenger side tire, both tires spun with no great amount of drag. when i put the tranny in neutral, i spun the driver side tire and the passenger tire spun very little(not even half a revolution). but when i spun the passengerside tire, the driver side tires didn't budge. funny that your car makes no weird sounds(at least a gear type would, i don't know about a clutch type), because i feel that the lsd is broken let us know what you find out!

hondog was your lsd was broken? is that why only one of your tire spin? when you replaced it did it drive normal again? in first gear i can push the car no problem too. thanks

i jack up my car and put it in first gear.. when i spin the driverside wheel, it's very very hard to spin, and the passengerside don't even move. If i spin the passengerside wheel it spins very easy, and the driverside won't spin at all.

Let me know if you need any other vids of it... As you see, theres no noise of grind or anything. Weird?

It has HaSport Race Axles in BTW, assuming the axles are fine.... and that they slide in pretty well...

put the car on the ground, put it in gear, and try to let out the clutch and pull out. what does it do? any noises? does the speedo move?

first gear on the ground with the clutch out still no movement. no noise what so ever.
1. car goes in all gear without stall, no movement what so ever.
2. you can put it in any gear without using the clutch. no grind or noise while doing this. strange. linkage is correct.
3. car on jack, the driverside wheel spin but not passenger. on ground car don't move at all.
4. you can push/roll the car in first gear very easy like in neutral.
5. speedo move up and down when i rev the car even in neutral. video.

same thing happened to me.. the first i had a gring into 2nd. then it had a grind and would pop out of 2nd. then it would goin 2nd but would grind like the gears were barly touching. then it popped out of gear once and the tranny was toast.
drained the fluid and all the gears fell out in little pieces.

If K trans is like B trans, the differential is turning to activate speedo. One of your axle to differential interfaces is completely fucked - can you guess which, empirically?

HERES the UPDATE.........!

We got it running! after lifting up the car...shake both wheels....wobbling it back and forth..and FOR SOME reason? the gear starts to catch on BOTH wheels.

WOW?

Yet here the problem....

We drove it back and forth in the garage to see if anything occurs, and it drives!

BUT!! once we get to driving it outside, it loose out again and goes back to the problem again? WEIRD???

I will try to pull out the axle tomorrow and see AGAIN (over 10 tries to get this axle in ) Which assuming from Hasport and Numerous tries.. that its all the way in!!

But this is wrong info... It is supposed to be alllllllllll the way sealed ... No gap! To seal properly.....

(No wonder my tranny fluid been leaking)

Which I assume and canceled out the idea of the axle being bad, since i was told from Hasport that the stage2 GAP was Normal...

If you put the car in gear and rev the engine does the speedo climb even though the car does not move? Is the rate of acceleration more in higher gears? If so it sounds like a broken diff.

After we wobble the wheel forawhile, back and forth... It catches on! and works FINE, drives for few minutes... Then seems to be back to the old issue....

MPH gauge climbs on revs after is "slips" and doesnt drive...

But if I repeat this process, and shake the wheel back and forth, it will drive for another minute or so?

Other then that, im just trying to nibble down the problem... Between AXLE/DIFFERENTIAL..?

um the axel is hanging out that need to sit flush in the tranny I don't care what hasport said if the axel doesn't go all the way in with out turning the wheel its too short push the axel all the way in on the hard to turn side and youll see you have no more problems

there is no way you can push the axle in more... period.
I heard that no matter how bad the LSD is broken the car should be able to still drive. Can anyone confrim that?

yeah if you're lucky it will drive, until pieces from the broken diff break though the case

That is not a normal gap. They must have misunderstood you when you were explaining the gap to them because that axle is your problem. I suspect the axle spline is now damaged and will need to be cleaned up or replaced to work properly. If the splines are undamaged, you can get the axle into the diff by using the knuckle like a slide hammer to drive it home.

Anyway, pull the axles and check the end to see if the splines are OK.

eRr.. I'll do that today... And will take some images of it...

Hmm, I guess I should retry once more.. No idea why this axle hate going in... Where it seems as if its in all the way. I will keep you updated about it.

Finally I have a solid anwser, that its not in properly (all the way)...! Thanks for the word.. Hope its not to late.
