HCP mounts!!!
Yeah Im getting all my parts together to do my h22 swap into a EG hatch and I still havnt picked up a mount kit yet. I found an older style HCP mount kit all of the mounts are steel no billet and I wanted to know if they are as good as the new ones or should I pick up a new style avid racing billet mount kit? Any advice woudl be great, thanks.

well right now I still have no clue with what mounts Im going to use. I looking between three, 1. hasports, 2, HCP's, and 3 Avids. Also I was wondering I know that the Hasports mounts line the engine up differently then the others, will the 90-93 accord intermediate shaft and 90-93 intergra axle combo still work?

Re: HCP mounts!!! (hpi247)
hpi247 - whats your setup? Where is it quicker? top? bottom?
I know the h trans is really low geared - it should be quicker than a B - no? unless you are turbo?
I have an LS trans which would probably just slow it down - no?
And if anyone finds the HCP's - please post, looks like jdmshit dont carry them anymore - at least they arent listed on the site - waiting for a reply email on that.

i am unsure about the axle issue. if i was doing a straight h22 swap, i would probably go with hasports. i was going to go with hcp because they were cheaper and money was tight. but in the end you get what you pay for, and hasport is one of the best.

h22 engine with a lsd gsr trans running the evolution industries h2b kit. right now my car pulls harder up top because i do not have my secondaries hook up, so im losing about 10 torque down low. it has been said that by using a gsr, type r, or b16 trans that you can shave off approximately .5 from your quarter mile time. the ls trans is geared so long that it will be slower than if you use a regular h series trans. i would recommend going with a h2b setup. you will not have to worry about what axle combo fits perfectly. you will also not have to work about running the shifter cables and having them bind up on you at high rpm shifts.

The only thing they replaced is the timing belt mount (billet). Same fitment. I have installed both.

Breaking? All the HCP mounts I have installed (10) have never broke. A few of the rear bushings riped, but that is it.
Avid is just junk, stay away from them.

Re: HCP mounts!!! (Turbogixxer)
well how can I get ahold of HCP? I found a deal on a mount kit and axles but the rear mount is torn, and I would want to get it fixed before I install the engine. Also when you say Avids mounts are junk are you speaking from experience with the new ones or from what you hear?

Try that or buy a HCP kit that does not have a bad bushing.

Re: HCP mounts!!! (boots89)
definitely dont want to cheap out on mounts. i do not know what bad experiences turbogixxer has had with avid, but i would not want anything to go wrong that holds my engine.

I understand that avids old style mounts sucked, but there new billet mounts look pretty good. HCPs mounts tear also, if I could get ahold of them and make sure they would fix this mount I would pick up one of there kits from this kid, but I cant.
