h2b frame clearancing
i'm working up to do the h2b swap on my h swapped 97 4dr civic. i don't have all the parts yet and i want to paint my car before i start this. reason being is i already have the paint and what not and it will be a while before i can get all the h2b parts. by painting first i can get it knocked out while i save for parts.
with that being said. please post clearance pics of your ek so i can see where i need to notch. also how much would be required to notch out if i wanted to run balance shafts. i would like to run them along with the full timming belt cover. my goal is to cut and weld to sink the frame rail in and maybe also reenforce the frame inside while i'm in there. make it a little more stiff with room for the motor. but with out having the swap kit i have no idea where to notch or how far in would be required. i plan to run a/c also. but will more than likely do the mr2 electric power steering.
thanks for your help.

you aren't going to find any pics like what you are asking for no one is running balance shafts.... you will have to cut a ton out of the rail.

Well, depends on which kit you are planning to get, I run the Bisi kit and no banging of frame rail required w/balancer shafts intact in an ek chassis.

EG with QSD, I ran balance shafts and no timing cover. I beat the framerail pretty hard to get it to fit. Then later I removed the balance shafts. Its way better without them I gotta say, more power and more simplicity. Plus you get more space. Had I known this before I wouldnt have had to beat the frame.
imo qsd is the best choice for the swap. Ive used evolution and bisimoto stuff and its all been prefect. But for the H2B its hard to beat QSD. I was really stoked on it. It Feels very professional when you put it together. The hood and framerail thing is a pain but the end result is what you want - oem positioning. It works well.
