Default H2B EK Build

well I figured it's about time to post my current build. After going through a couple cars I finally made my mind up and picked the best shell and Im sticking with it. The car is a 98 Dx auto with 153,xxx on the body, and I will be swapping in my built H22A1 which has LA sleeves, CP 9:5:1 pistons, eagle rods for now until I save up for pauters, balanced crank, removed BS's, stock head, skunk 2 intake-manifold. Im going to be running a HX35 for now until I can save some money for a GT35 or 37, Also Im running AFI top-mount, tial 44mm,RC800's Im going to upgrade to 1000's later, and tuned with P28 s300. Drivetrain wise Im running the ACT extreme pressure plate four puck, and for now a 01 GSR tranny with OBX LSD.

Heres some pics of the car while its unmodified, hoping to have it swapped this weekend.

Heres my harness I just recived today thanks to NHswaps13203

I just finished installing upgraded washers and bolts in my LSD which i got from rbryant on here

Heres some pics of me tearing down the tranny to install the LSD, wont get it back together until tommorow or the next day if i have to wait on shims.

Heres my AFI top-mount and Tial 44

Heres pic of my AEM fuel filter and innovative relocation bracket

Heres my pulley after machining

Heres my lsd after switching the bearings

I will get more pics up, rest of my stuff is at another shop.

Nice to see your finally starting your build i have to keep up on this one. I think im going to have nhswaps do my harness as well. Im picking up my motor this this week so it should be coming together really fast after that.

NHswaps13203- Thanks I'm sure I will run into some kind of problem I always do, and thanks for the harness it looks great.

Thanks everyone, I was hoping to get some pics of everything else tonight but I dont think im going to make it to the shop and I still havnt picked up my b16 final-drive gear from my friend because the lsd is for a b16 and im putting it into gsr trans. I will update problably tommorow.

JDMDC4life-no ****, Ive been having this project going for ever. I started with a 94 accord then swith to an eg, then picked up two ek hatchs then finally made my mind up. I would defiantely have nhswaps do you harness mine turned out great looks really clean and saved me the headaces.

Thanks, yea I was worrying about it to but I read up on them and people seem to have good luck with the newer ones and especially when you upgrade the washers and bolts and clean everything. I only have $325 in it I figured I would give it a try, I'll keep my fingers crossed . I really couldnt make my mind up between an eg or ek, then came accross deal on two eks and Im really happy with my decision and I reaaly cant wait to have this thing swapped and boosted.

the ek h2b swap is easy.. you will need to beat the driver side frame a little for alternator clearance, and the area around the crank pully is really tight but the hood shuts and you dont need to relocate the alternator.

well I already bought a innovative relocation bracket and was hoping if I move the crankpulley in that wouldnt have to hit the framrail in. I hope everything goes smoothly and easy but I always seem to run into some problem lol.

if you relocate the alt lower you wont need to bang the frame at all.

the crank pully will rub just a hair so its kind of optional to move it 1/2 inch in. if you have it do it so you dont have to drop the driver side of hte motor down to change the alt belt.

Thanks, that makes me very happy to hear that I wont have to hit the framerail in. I will hopefully be getting my axles, starter, mounts, and wheels this week. It pretty much depends on if my other ek sells, which it should. If that all happens I will problably miss a couple days of school if I can(already missed 37 due to my car wreck) and I dont see why I can't have it swapped and possibly boosted by this weekend.

Well when I am done with mine I hope to run 12.5's NA once I get cams and tunned on hondata. With boost you should have no prob hitting 11's if you can get traction that is.

Im always tempted to go boost but im to much of a NA *****. Not to mention I owned a boosted car and hated it might have been cuz it was a Toyota though and not a Honda.
