Way to short, you have no RPM to make up for the mph lost id stay with a stock b16 trans if i were you, believe me my buddies h23 seems perfect with the b16 trans anything shorter would be ridiculous. Try out the zeal transmission calculator should help you out with what you want

i think thats something you should look into AFTER you have the car dyno'd
you're going to want to see how your powerband looks and where your peak power is

i think with a 4.9, you're going to need to carry out the power a bit on an H

I would think a 4.7 would be much friendlier street/strip wise

Would depend upon where you're making power and how much.

Is this going to be a dedicated track car? Just a daily to take to the track sometimes?

I say take it to the track on the stock b16 trans with the tires/suspension setup you plan to run and see where you exit the traps (what RPM) and you can choose from there.

its going to be 90 percent drag strip 10 percent street. i live in small town no freeways here. i really think 4.7 will help at the track with 23 m@hs but hurt on the street cause of tire spin. but maybe im wrong...
