Default h22a question

on a scale from 1-10 (1 being easy and 10 being hard), would you say an h22a swap into a 5th gen accord is easy or hard? assuming you have a general idea of your way around cars and have both manuals and have help

The motor drops straight in.....the car already has shifter cables.....the wiring harness is very similar.....shouldnt be too hard.

Just hook up the coolant/fuel hoses.....wire VTEC...if you dont already have it....and wire the IAB's (secondary intake runners)

I think the accord axles will even work....

yeah....you would have to add a clutch pedal, master cyl., slave cyl., etc. Then you would have to get a accord/prelude 5 speed shifter. I dont know how to convert your car.....but I have heard of shops doing the at/mt swap for cheap.

Looks like you need to go to the junk yard and ckeck out an MT. accord to see what the differences are....then maybe you could decide wether or not to try it yourself....but the shifter shouldnt be a problem

http://www.wegotused.com/harrys.html

this is where I went to get all my H22 stuff for my civic. I found

1. all the rubber mounts for prelude shifter box
2. the 90 accord halfshaft
3. 91 accord fuel rail.
spent 20 bux for all the parts.

well the person i was going to go there with can't make it anytime soon either. his girl is due anytime and he can't be in allentown looking for car parts when his baby could pop out anytime soon haha

i think we're gonna head over there in january. so if you wanna join us...or if you wanna go on a seperate trip with me...i'm down to go to allentown twice.

damn man. my dad just screwed me over. my tranny blew about a week ago. i was planning on doing the AT to MT swap myself. but i went to school today and when i came home....i found out that he took my car to the shop and told them to rebuilt my AT~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was so pissed. i'm really thankful that he cares enough to do this......cause i know a lot of fathers won't...but i mean he's wasting his money. it would be MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH cheaper for me to do the MT swap. just pissed me off today. and yo ...... i'm sooooooooooooo sick and tired of AT. i need to shift my own gears lol. and heres the worst thing.....i'm korean...but i seriously HATE korean mechanics...in NY those korean mechanics don't konw SH*T about cars man. like today i called the place he took it to...and i said - instead of rebuilting, i want you to do an AT to MT swap. and they were like theres too much stuff to do, we're just going to do the AT rebuilt. and i said....i'm paying you~you do what i tell you to do. and he said well we already started. so unless you wanna pay for both, we will do only the AT rebuilt. i don't feel safe having my car in a place that tells me that they think AT to MT is too much work. sighhhhhhh wish me luck. i'm sorry i wrote so much. just trying to vent out some frustration.

** i wanna go to allentown like this weekend guys. i doubt any of you can go. but if i can get these guys to stop doing the AT rebuilt, i wanna go to allentown, get my tranny, and be driving my sunday.**
