Default h22a eg6 CEL

Hi,

I have a eg6 with h22a 1994 prelude conversion. I have a CEL but it only comes on when driving under load, mainly between 2500-3000rpm. If i turn the ignition off the code clears which makes it hard to find out what it is using flash codes. As soon as the light comes on it goes into limp mode.

I also have an exhaust rattle which only seems to happen once the light has come on but i dont have any heat sheilds, its de-catted etc.

Does anyone have any idea on what this could be?

You probably have the backup/memory circuit "switched hot". It should be "hot at all times". Have you tried jumping the service check connector with the MIL on?

done the check 2day and came up with this

12) EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) -Defective circuit or unplugged/ Defective sensor

23) Knock Sensor - Defective circuit or unplugged / Defective sensor

but the light is not on when the car first starts up ????

can anyone help?

The ECU doesnt detect EGR when you first start it up. Same with the knock sensor cicuit. It sound like you have 2 problems, EGR and KS. Dont start by replacing parts on it. Test the systems first. A lot of H swaps dont have the EGR frequency valve installed. You need this if your running a p13 ECU.
