h22 and transmissions
Hi,
In my project car I am going to use an H22 engine from JDM (Japan Domestic Market). I would like to marry it with the lowest (numerically) total ratio transmission possible. As far as I know this will be manual transmission from the new Accord 2.2 i-ctDi engine which has top gear ratio: 0,69 and final drive ratio 3,29 giving 2,27 total gear ratio.
However I have a number of problems and questions:
1. Am I doing right? Or maybe there exists a numericaly lower honda transmission?
2. What is the symbol of this Accord 2.2 i-ctDi transmission?
3. What torque it is build to support?
4. And the most important: Will it fit the H22 engine ?
Thanks for all answers.
Piotr

Re: h22 and transmissions (domator)
1. I'm not too sure on that model Accord, but Accord's do have longer gears than Prelude's.
2. Again, haven't seen that model accord, perhaps you've searched around junk yards?
3. This depends on dyno. Other than that, you'll have to do a little bit of research.
4. Yes, as long as that model Accord comes with an F series; H and F series trannies mate up with no problems.

Re: h22 and transmissions (uncle)
Ok. Here goes explanation. (sorry for my english)
It is off-road racing car. Engine and transmission will be mounted in a middle-rear part of car and will be longituted (paralell ??) to a car. One drive-shaft will act as a front shaft and second one as a rear shaft.
There will be rear subaru differential at the rear and the same (but rotated) at the front.
In that case final ratio will be like divided by 3.7 which lower 250 miles/h to 90 m/h :-))))
And that is what I need - top speed about 90 miles /h.
If I use "normal" F or H tranny - the top speed will be about 55 what is to low :-(
What transmission should I use ?
