Default H22 transmission mounting issues. Please help!

Hey guys, I have a h22 turbo in a 93 civic 4dr. My prelude tranny went the other day, so I bought an accord tranny from a 90-93, supposed to be better for turbo hence longer gearing. But anyways I have an hcp mount kit for the motor and the hcp tranny mount does not fit on the accord trans. What can I do to get this tranny mounted in my civic, has anyone done it before?

when did the accord come dual over head cam, never so why would an accord tranny fit the h22. does a b16 tranny fit a sohc vtec? no so why would it be that way with the h22.

Are you kidding? The F-series Accord tranny bolts right up. It just has different mounting points for the bracket...you normally can mix and match the top and bottom part but since he has a one piece mount he cant do that.

Btw, when did a civic come with a H22? Never did...guess it wont fit

I suggested contacting tunedbyorange because as far as I know he is also using an SOHC accord trans.

I guess this would mean that if you put a F series in a Civic or Integra, that a H series not only isn't a better performance match, its a better physical match.

And, I know I may be stupid, but to me "staying in gear longer" means slower. Although highway driving may be nicer....a Prelude transmission is practically like a <integra> LS tranny which is long(er) than most. I don't buy the longer tranny = better thing.

Hope you find a solution though
