Default h22 oil problem? is it a concern?

As you guys may remember from recently we just installed an h22 into my friends civic. But we have come across a minor problem (I think minor), when we took off the spark plug wires there was oil on top of some of the plugs.

but the thing is we changed the:
-spark plugs
-wires
-spark plug gromets
-valve cover gasket
-oil pan gasket etc.

The only thing I could think of is during the first 3 months while the motor sat in the garage we poured about a table spoon of oil down each spark plug hole.

either way I don't feel it is to big of a concern because it is not burning oil or misfiring, but to be on the safe side the motor is going to get recompression tested tomorrow. Any ideas of what it could be would be great! thanks.

Oil on TOP of the plugs? Sounds like when you changed the VC gasket the grommets that seal the spark plug holes aren't seated right. Either that, or when you filled the oil you spilled some. Nothing to worry about, but I'd get it fixed. it can cause your spark plugs to short out. It's fine.

I thought it was on top of the plugs but it's not, it only has oil in 2 of the plug holes (spark plug threads down only) My guess is we put to much oil in the motor, during the winter.... How long do you think it will take to burn out?

the motor had pretty good compression across all four as well, so at least the motor is ok :-)

Oooh that'll burn off fairly quickly. Depends on how much, but probably not more than a few minutes/miles.
