Default H22 into DC chassis

Hi.How logical is this swap? Can someone tell me the pro's and con's of this swap? i'm asking this because it seems to me like a sensible swap because of the displacement of the prelude h22 engine. I know the weight of the h22 will have an effect on the handling of the car but is it that noticeable and that much of a difference? this will be a daily driven car so i don't think the understeer will be that much of a problem? will a large(23mm?) rear stab. bar cure this? I think the 2.2liter is what i'd like to build because when i drive my mom's 02' SE-R Spec V the torque on this thing is sooo incredible!! and i'd like similar performance out of the DC chassis. And another + is the price of the H22's.Thanks.

I've seen it done. The weight issues shouldn't even be a concern. Turbo that bia and you are SET. I'm not sure of the specifics though, sorry.

thanks for the reply hybriddreams. I didn't think the weight would be much of a concern either. Also, would i have to leave out anything? like the power steering and AC?

Not sure - click on my link for InlinePro and give them a call - I know they've done the swap and should be able to answer your questions right off the bat.

You lose both pwr steering and AC. the loss of pwr steering isn't bad at all, i've had mine off for a year now and dont miss it. the lack of AC would suck.

custom brackets have been made that allow for the ac to be used though.

thanks for the reply Tom, maybe an aftermarket company makes these brackets? or most likely i'll have to get them custom made

Are we talking about a DC2? Because you can keep powersteering and a/c. I have powersteering in mine. To have a/c...you would have to get custom a/c lines and a a/c braket that hasport makes.

I did my swap...and I'm waiting for a wiring harness to come in today....then I'll be able to start it and tell you more about the handling..etc. I have upgraded a lot of the suspension for the added weight...so hopefully..there won't be much of a difference. I have Koni Yellows with Eibach Prokit springs....ITR rear sway bar w/ BSQ mount kit...ITR front sway bar....JDM ITR rear sway bar...and a few other goodies...so hopefully handling will actually be better than before. I also plan to relocate the battery and maybe get a carbon fiber hood. I'll tell you more about the swap later bro...I have to get to class.
