H22 in the back of a Hatch?
Has anyone heard or seen of an H22 swap in the back of a hatch? Does anyone know if the frame rails are the same width in the front as they are in the back?
why the hell would you do that? it fits in the front.. wtf.. thats the gayest question i have ever heard in my whole life.. do you know what it would take to set up the engine to run from the rear of the car?

lol. h22 in the rear hatch is possible if someone is really on the ball.
there is nsx rwd crx, and a rwd del sol with b16 around...
big time fabrication has to be done and alot of $$ will be involved.
not worth it IMO unless you plan on throwing huge drag slicks on it and running 8's.

Hey, thanks for the link. A friend and I have been arguing over this issue for several months now. I know it's possible, I just feel that in terms of reliability it won't be that great. I'm trying to convince him that an s2000 swap in the front with a ford 9" rear would be the way to go. Any comments on that?
That's one of my points as well. We're trying to build an original fast car. An engine in the back would be sweet because you're losing virtually nothing to the wheels when compared to having a driveshaft and a rearend. Just something to chew on. Hopefully whatever we decide on will be done for the Carlisle Import show in May. We own the burnout competition and we have to top last year.

If you're going to do a mid-engine car, might as well use a mid-engine engine.
BTW, burnout competitors are wannabe racers.
If you're really serious about this check out this thread.
It's been done.
Here in the islands too!!

Thanks for the link. Yes having a motor in the front does accomplish that, but everyone knows that rear drive cars hook up much better. Compare any 60 foots from the top racers and it's a fact. I was the very first car. Gas mask, Dork T-shirt, and a girl with big ole ta ta's.

Unless you're shooting for 8's, I think 1.6 60ft times are great for ANY car. And that's easily accomplished with a properly setup FWD car with slicks.
So again, if you have the means and want to be "different", then go for it. But if you want to convert it for the sole purpose of hooking better, then it's definitely a waste of $$$ IMHO.
Now go out there and burn out those tires!
