Hawaiian RWD H22 boosted civic..............
even if the pics worked 12sec would be stupid as hell.. you can drop a LS in a hatch with nitrous and almost run 12's. rwd h22 boost running 12's? how dumb.if its true that i feel sorry for who ever built that car. all that work and can only pull 12s.
That's my friend Rob's car. I help wrench on that thing when I can. It's got some ignition glitches that need to be resolved. Hopefully the car will turn in better times. I hope that the axles hold up next weekend. Anyone can drop a b-series motor into a hatch and use nitrous. He did it for the challenge of building something that was different. Plus he did most of the work himself, lots of fabrication and mods. We here in Hawaii don't have the luxury of chassis shops and even performance engine shops. Admittedly, we are at least 1-2 years behind the rest of the country when it comes to import performance.

I still would like to see the picture load, but is it a rear mounted H22 (like the CR-NSX), or is it a north-south engine in the front with some funky tranny setup?

Kind of gay. A stock H22 in a non-gutted CRX would probably hit high 12's. But yea whatever. Bye.

What, praytell, is the point of a widebody one piece front end on a RWD, rear engined Hatch?Holy WRONG OFFSET, Batman! Leave the 300ZX wheels on the Z's PUH-lease!
And one more thing... how long has it been since the oil was changed on that engine?! Looks like it's been a while!
But the welding and fabrication job looks pretty good!
I don't see why everyone is flaming so much about this... IMO this is a probably the most difficult swap to do - RWD H22 in a Civic? I think it's awesome that you guys actually got it running!!!!
You'll easily be able to make those times look nicer once you get past all of the tuning.
All in all, nice work!

Much props.
BTW, the 'widebody' frontend is probably purely for weight purposes
Isn't that pretty obvious?
cool. what kind of engine management is it running on? i think some massive fender flares for the rear should be next. then run it on some huge mickey thompson's!
That is freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!! I want to do a RWD conversion just for kicks...or something like that.
Props to your friend.

The car uses an Accel DFI (the old model). Yeah, I'm not too into the way the wheels stick out in the rear, but unless he does major structural work on the rear, that's the way it's going to stay. Fender flares would be cool as well. Big slicks will probably equate to broken axles, that's the reason for using the Nitto 555R's. As for using the Z-wheels, he needed something decently wide and that was the cheapest alternative he had.
For all the flamers-if you can build something like this in your own garage, do all your own fabricating, get it running, and fund the project out of your own pocket, I'll be the first to give you props.

I remember talking to the guy who owns that when I was living in Hawaii. I just didn't think he'd ever get it done.
And also, there's a guy from here in Columbus with a RWD CRX with a boosted S2000 engine in it. It lays down somewhere over 700hp.
If I cana find the video I'll post a link to it.
