Default Is this a good idea?

I am thinking about buying a B16 longblock (the older ones that are like 500 bucks) with no tranny and a B18C shortblock. I was hopeing to just take the short block add some JDM R pistons and swap everything over from the B16 longblock. This includes the head and everything. Is this a cost effective way to do things? I want the 1.8L engine but without the cost of a GSR engine. It seems like it is a cheap way to go and with some R cams and an R manifold I could be getting some pretty good numbers.
