Default engine swaps and DMV's

I'm thinking about buying an EG hatch with a gsr swap. The cluster has also been swapped with a JDM one thats in Km's only. Can anyone give me some input how it works when registering the car as far as recording the odometer mileage on the title. I'm gona be registering the car in MD or NJ, so if anyone has specific info on those states that would be even better! TIA

well when i registered my cx awhile back, transferring title etc, dmv never asked for mileage of the car well here they dont so i dont knoe if its different over there. because on the back of the title it says odometer reading so i asked the dmv and they said its not required......

the only time the dmv really cares about the mileage is if you are selling the vehicle. then you fill out some form that states that the odometer/gauge cluster was replaced. its more of a thing to cover your *** so you don't get charged with tampering with the odometer.
