OK I really want to build two hybrids a VTEC and a Non-VTEC. The two engines I have choosen and the B18c and the B20. I don't want to mess with H series or LS/VTEC swaps. I have locked the poll, if you have any other choices put the in a reply. Thanks. So here are my choices. I have a 92 Si right now shuold I....

Stupid question...but I always hear you guys refer to the civic in terms of EG and EK. What is the difference? That way I can vote on this topic.
EG = '92-'95
EK = I dunno? Newer? '95-'00 I guess?
EK = I dunno? Newer? '95-'00 I guess?
EG=92-95 hatch
EK=96-00 hatch
EK=96-00 hatch

None of them.
If you have the $$ go with the B18C5 in an EG hb. I should've saved more $$ and got it in the first place. I *am* very happy with my B18C1, but I just wished I would've gotten the B18C5. Better overall drop-in. Engine, tranny, you name it.
If not get the B18C1. Same amount of torque.

yeah B18c5 in a EG. the ITR motor is hand built, and comes with a factory LSD and 4-1 header with like a 3 or 3.5" collector. plus slightly better gear ratios. i think its a longer 5th.

JDM IRT header is 2-2.5" collector. it is hand ported @ 8 hrs. LSD is the bomb and it is worth getting a tranny that is ITR now the reason other than LSD is the 4.40 final. It makes a HUGE difference when you run 1320, on the highway it sucks ***... big time

just to let u know... if u'r putting a b20 in your car... and u want vtec... it is an ls/vtec

he's talking about two different motors, in two different cars... VTEC in one probably to run all motor, and a non-vtec motor to throw some boost at.

UMM what I never said that I am talking about two different cars. One car with VTEC one without. Also it wouldn't be an LS/VTEC it would be B20/VTEC. Just thought I would clear that up for you. Thanks for all the replies. You guys really seem to think that the B18c5. The car wouldn't be raced, it would just be a daily driver. I am also thinking of keeping the EG simple(just the swap) and getting a 98-99 ITR. just to let u know... if u'r putting a b20 in your car... and u want vtec... it is an ls/vtec

just so you ls/vtec and b20 vtec is pretty much the same thing just different blocks.... its the same process for both set-ups... check b20vtec.net, lots of info... and just so ya know im not flamin you... so dont even think about flamin me
cause you'll get the gas face(hehehe)
