STILL working on the minime ... the head/intake are getting ported ($200) then it's off to the shop for a 3 angle ($150). Got the BBK 52mm throttle body too (looks nice! check out my page to compare to an EX throttle body). What year/motor did you put a Greddy kit on if you didn't have an EX? I'm putting together a turbo setup that will probably go on within a couple of weeks after the minime is complete.

the greddy is on a 99 cx/dx motor. i swapped the intake manifold for a 92-95 ex/si style one. othere than that the motor is stock. your setup sounds cool, although i was thinking of going n/a on a d-series.

Not going to be real fast without turbo - I think you'll be lucky to get 140-150 HP to the wheels. For the kind of money that's going to take, you might as well swap I don't say that much, because a little work and a turbo goes a long way on an SOHC!

i know it does, my car is turbo now. i was thinking of doing a swap but the cost of that is like 3500 for a legit swap. even if i built a d-series all motor it would be much cheaper, high compression pistons, rods, decent port work and an aggressive cam, i think it will do pretty good i think i could pull 13's w/ that setup. just don't like the turbo setup, runs really rich very and its very boggy off of boost (had slight detonation probs and retarded the timing quite abit). i know there are a few fast all motor drag cars out running the d-series: jay yuson and bizee come too mind. just want the car too run as fast as it does now just w/o boost if possible with the d-series cuz i know its gonna be cheaper to build up than a swap

Sometime down the road, after the minime, after the turbo, I'll build my DX block (or another, they should be about $100 anyway). I think I'll be able to do it for under $1500 ... all prepped for LOTS of boost. I'm starting at 6 PSI, probably try to take it up to 9 or 10, then after the rebuild, well, who knows? The thing is cams on Hondas hardly seem to do anything. I mean, what do cams on a DOHC get you (for a hefty $500 price tag) - about 8 HP I think. I just can't see making any decent power without FI for a decent amount of money. I think a cam for an SOHC runs about $500 too, what's up with these guys? A decent cam for a V8 is about 200 bucks!! For $500 you can get a full roller setup on a Mustang!

Ohhh, I have a good one for ya. What did you do about the IAC valve when you swapped your intake manifold? I'm running into this thing - th EX has a 2 wire IAC and the DX has a 3 wire...really stumping me on what to do, and I want to figure it out now rather than when I'm bolting the new head on!

i'm using my cx/dx t/body on the ex/si intake manifold. so the iac stays the same at least on mine.

That would be nice ... did you just fab a block off plate for the IAC mount on the intake (assuming the pre-96 EX manifolds are the same as the post 96)? I don't think I can get away with doing that on mine, I don't think the BBK throttle body will accept the DX valve...damnit.
