Default Engine question (B18C1 & B18C5)

Was wondering if its actually worth the money to spend on the ITR motor for a EG HB or get a GSR and build on that. Did a search but no answers for me!!!

ITR has everything: better valvetrain, LSD, better gear ratios. If you were to put a GSR engine in how much would you rekon you'd spend to make it equivalent to the ITR.

I would probably start from an ITR motor.

After I bought my GSR swap and built it(USDM ITR pistons, shot peened rods, full rebuild including new pumps gaskets rings and bearings, full P&P on the head, valves, valve springs, retainers, and CTR cams) I have spent about the same as I would have to buy a stock ITR changeover and my setup beats stock ITR hybrids.

But I might add the only reason my cost came out to be the same as an ITR swap after building up a GSR is I did all the rebuild and work(except the Port and Polish) myself So I payed no labor charges on the rebuild and build up.

But the flip side is if you have enough for the ITR and all those mods then you are going to be faster than GSR with the same mods. But all in all I am happy with my money spent.

Cool!!! so you spank stock ITRs!
See thats the problem right by a GSR and put LSD, final gear, Intake manifold and with all the labor its gonna cost almost the same as getting a ITR motor. But I guess some people don't have all that money at once and would rather get stuff one by one and spend ton of money on labor.

No I beat stock ITR Hybrids...as in ITR motors in civics Actual ITR Integras are even easier..unless they are heavily modified then I get spanked.
