Re: Engine blue printing ? ? ? ?? (Hardcore Civic Fan)
Heh heh heh... .nope... blueprinting is typically done while balancing. It puts all the parts of the motor in question to exacting factory tolerances and specs... It just makes the motor more reliable and smoother operation. Yes you can still mod a blueprinted engine... just don't replace the parts that were blueprinted.

Re: Engine blue printing ? ? ? ?? (X2BOARD)
when an engine is manufactured, everything is made to within certain tolerances. ie the bore to a b20 is 84mm +/- .0012mm. when an engine is blueprinted, the machine shop machines everything to a much tighter tolerance, like +/- .0002mm for example. this makes the engine much more like the original blueprints, and much more reliable since it is much closer to how the engineers designed it. the reason they dont do this at the factory is because it is unneccessary on most stock engines, and the closer the tolerances, the more expesive and difficult it is to produce the engine. Lets face it, noone would buy a civic if they cost 40,000 each. But if you are modifying your engine to do more than it was designed ( higher RPM, higher compression ratio, turbo, supercharger, etc... ) its a good idea to make sure those tolerances are as close as they can be.
