ELD - What does it do?
Accord 2004 ex.
I want to make the accessory power outlets hot all the time so my GPS and Computer inverter stay running while I shut the car down to gas up.
One way would be to jumper the accessory control relay contacts, but that would leave the current draw running through the ELD. I believe the ECM is watching the ELD and would see that unexpected current. Would that be a problem?
My archive searches reveal that the ELD is sensed to verify electrical load and raise engine idle rpm to suport electrical loads if necessary. Apparently if too much equipment is added the ELD sees a current draw level higher than some factory limit and kicks a 20 code. What else is it doing?
Thanks for your help.

It really shouldn't be. Worse come to worse, since it seems you're competent to wire things, you can always hardwire the outlets to the battery thus bypassing the ELD altogether.
Hondas run so lean at idle that an electrical current demand of a decent size will make the idle bobble a bit - so the ECU uses this to counteract that.
