EKK1 or EKK2 Mounting Kit
I am dropping a K20 into a EK hatch or coupe and was wondering which mounting kit from hasport i should go with. i know you need a EG sub frame with the EKK2 but what sub frame do you use with the EKK1. Which would you guys recommend?

You use the stock one in your EK.

The EKK1 kit is made to be used with the car as is. You do not use a different subframe.
The EKK2 kit was designed for people who wished to have more ground clearance and the engine moved back for better balance. With the EKK2 kit I suggest using either an EG manual rack and subframe or a DC2 power rack and subframe. You can use an EG subframe and rack too, but either way get the EG or DC lower control arms too.

A little over half an inch of extra ground clearance, but the big advantage is the oil pan is much closer to the wheels. So if you draw a line from the low point on the front edge of the frame tangent to the front wheels the oil pan sits way above that. By the time a tall speed bump gets close to your oil pan the wheels are starting to drive up the bump. Same with pulling into a driveway with a steep entrance, the frame under the radiator makes contact before the oilpan can.
As for balance, I haven't done the math, but moving the 305 lb engine and transmission rearward 2 inches is significant.
