EGR VALVE???
OK I JUST FINISHED MY LS SWAP INTO MY 89 DX..FINALLY RUNNING..TEST DROVE AND ON WAY BACK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON..CODE 12..EGR VALVE...PROBLEM..USING 92 MOTOR WHICH IAM TOLD HAS NO EGR VALVE..USING 91 ECU WHICH IS LOOKING FOR EGR VALVE..CAUSING TO SURGE DURING IDLE..ANY WAY TO BYPASS EGR VALVE OR ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS???

Alright EGR does not cause a fluctuation in idle it is only operational at mid throttle so if you are on the throttle all the time then it should not throw a code or if you are costing it should not throw a code. I know i have this code it doesn't bother me and i could fix it but am to lazy. Do you have any other codes? Your fluctuaion could be a vacume hose connected wrong or something that kinda sounds more like it.

i got it fixed it was that a local shop told me that 90-93 integras only had a egr valve if the car was an automatic....and guess what i had a auto ecu..i swapped it out for a man. ecu and the light went away and the car idles fine now so all is fixed..thanks
