Default EGR cel...

I tried to search through tons of crap and didn't find a good answer... is this cel(12) hurting me at all? I didn't hook up my egr at all, so obviously I am throwing that cel. it comes on randomly. Thanks

edit: I forgot to say that I have a 93 jdm H22a.

Nope doesn't hurt the performance at all. The EGR Code 12 is a soft code and doesn't affect any settings with the ECU.

Im having the same problem. I just rebuilt my engine (H23), everything was fine then when I finally got it all hooked back up the CEL came on giving me the EGR code (12). Thats the only code I get and something isnt right......Im running rich as hell. I have heard that if the CEL is on at all it causes the car to run richer than normal.....how do I fix this mess? Also, I have checked the entire EGR system as according to my HELM manual and it all checks off as good.......the manual says bad ECM, say its not SO!!!!!!
