Default ECU Question

Ok I am not sure about this but can I use my DX ECU on my H22A just to check and see if my P13 is not working. I am having issues with my P13, I had it chiped and I think thats whats causing my problems. So can I use my DX ECU to start the car and see if the problems are still there with the DX ECU.

Thats a good question. Because sometimes in the helms when you are trying to troubleshoot a problem it may say to swap ecu's with one you is good. So ttt b/c I would like to know also.

I believe you can use the DX ECU as long as you wire the injector back to the way they were, with out the injector resistor.

Since you have a 98 Civic, and an ECU jumper harness, get any OBD-1 ECU (SOHC or DOHC, VTEC or not, doesn't matter... the car *should* at least start and run... will throw codes but will start and run). If you plug in your OBD-2 DX computer, your car will probably start, but then you don't know if your ECU jumper harness is the problem or not. Get/borrow an OBD-1 ECU (any will work, just to start the car up and to have it running) and see if that works. If it does, then check the P13. If it doesn't start up, then check your wiring and the ECU jumper harness. If your car doesn't start up with the DX ECU, then something's wrong with the wiring in the engine bay and trouble shoot that. Just take steps to help isolate the problem.
