Double swap help
K I have 2 civics, a 1992 civic hatch cx with whats suppose to be a 1999 B18B1 engine with 2000 GSR tranny. The other civic is a 1998 Honda civic DX coupe (automatic). I want to swap the engines between the cars and im wondering what I will need to do to avoid as many problems beforehand.
For both cars here is a list of parts I know i need
D series into 92
-D series tranny
-D series Shift linkage and shifter
-p06 ecu chipped to run 1.6L
-re-use axles from auto
-OBD1 injectors, re-pin distributor, swap purge valves?
-re-use upper tranny mount
-D-series front tranny mount
-MT starter
-D series clutch, PP and flywheel.
B series into 98
-MT upper tranny mount and B-series front tranny mount
-re-use shift linkage on swap
-re-use B series axles
-clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and hydraulic lines
-5spd pedals
Now im guessing that all the re-pinning etc that i have to do to the D series is probably already done to the B series so my question is, is there anyway I could run an OBD1 ECU in the 1998? I am putting together a turbo kit and im planning on getting an OBD1 LS ECU to socket and i didnt know if it would be easier to run OBD1 in the 1998 or run the B series OBD2?
