Do i need a crank sensor????
I'm putting a b16a motor into a 98 civic ex. I'm using the ex engine harness with a obd2a to obd1 jumper harness into a hondata s300 p28 ecu. On the wire harness there's a plug for crankshaft sensor..my b16 doesn't have the crankshaft sensor.. do I need to have the sensor in oder for the car to run or since I'm using a obd1 ecu I don't need the sensor... this is a full race car..no inside harness..just a switch panel to engine harness to control ignition

you have answered your own question I think. for confirmation though, you're correct, you won't need it since the ECU won't be looking for it. there is a "crank position sensor" in the distributor. that's all you need.
OK thanks I was just wondering as someone told me that I had to have it cause I'm using the obd2 engine harness..but I've never swapped in a b series before so I was just checking..thanks
