Distributor troubles
Ok have a 99 civic ex and putting in a b20 (97) with gsr head(98). Ok I am told that the civic ex harness with work with the swap of some sensors to make it all match up. But what about the distributor. We purcahsed a 99 gsr one and its plug does not make the harness of the ex. The ex has 8 wires in 2 roles of 4 and the gsr dis has a square plug not the the rectangle one the ex has. its wires are like 3 rows. 4then 3(there are 4 holes but one is pluged) and the 2 wires that are biger than the rest. Any ideas guys? Im guessing we were send an obd1 dis and not an obd2

Re: Distributor troubles (another civic)
yeah man. its like this. The 2000ex harness uses a difrent plug for the dis than a b-series. So we took the 2000ex dis and took all the internals out and put them in the 2000si dis. now it all plugs together. And we will see in a few days if it works right

Re: Distributor troubles (another civic)
Its acutally and extra green wire that hooks to the side of the ignitor. ever the old distributors that have the same ignitor have the spot to hook that wire too but there is just no one there. Im guessings its a sort of tach signa;

Re: Distributor troubles (turboex)
why i ask is cuz i have a 00 ex with t3/t4 turbo...and im swapping in the b20b we have it all put toghether except for the distributor...i also am runnin in to a problem with my external fuel pump not functioning i have it wired directly to the ecu but that was the p2p now im trying to run the p75 and its not kicking on. and we re-wired our distributor leaving that wire from the ignitor off. ive been trying to start it with the fuel pump on constantly just to get it started. but i will crank but will not start...after a while of trying to start it we're getting a no more cranking just a grind sounds like its comming from the starter. but when we took out the starter to test it, it seems fine. so im questioning if we' did the distributor right. nothing but fustration. keep me updated on how your progress is going

Re: Distributor troubles (another civic)
ok man, im hoping to have this one running tonight is all goes well. As for that extra wire, i totally search mitchel on demand and there no sing of it. I look on a type-r, gsr, b20, si and everything and it does not list that wire as even being there. are you gettting spark? If so is your fuel pump staying on? As for ecu I only use p28's with hondatas. All other ecus i seem to run into problems with.
