Default Distributor compatability question

I got a JDM b16a II, and the distributor keeps on eating up distributor caps and rotor buttons, so im under the assumption that i need a new distributor. So here lays the question. Can i put the distributor off my original 93 cx motor onto the b16a? I know the rotor cap and button are same from the two, but what about the whole distributor assembly? Hondaautomotiveparts.com reads 8000$ for a new distributor and im not about to pay that!

You can take all the guts out of the 93 civic distributor and put it in your dohc distributor. Only thing you have to reuse is the case and shaft from the dohc distributor.
