Default Differences in bare blocks...

Was wondering if if there was any differences in bare blocks between the b18c5 and b18c.. both USDM?

reason is that I can pick up the bareblock for the c5 pretty cheap.. and does anyone got any recommendations for the internals? I wanna use stock OEM honda parts either USDM or JDM.

Also, how much would a b18c5 crank, rod, piston go for on the market?

-Thanks

The b18c5 crank will be expensive. The pistons and rods shouldn't be.

As far as I know the b18c and b18c5 share the exact same block. The b18c5's crank is a little different though..

is it possible to go with the b18c or B16 crank? what are the pros/cons of this?

well I picked up the B18C5 98USDM bare block, can I get a list of things to complete this shortblock?

You can also us an LS crank and rods for cheap, and you would get a little extra stroke out of it. JDM ITR pistons & rings should be pretty cheap too.

is it possible to go with an ITR crank, LS rod, and CTR piston? will the LS rod fit? the problem is that the ITR crank is pretty hard to find.

LS rods will not fit the ITR crank. The bearings journals for the rods are narrower on the ITR than they are on the LS.
