would a b16 swap, with a b20z shortblock, stock internals, be reliable for daily driving? if not, what would need to be replaced? would you have problems if you just slap together the b16 and b20? thanx

http://www.crvtec.com would be good reading for you right now. Go there.

I have a daily driven b20/vtec. 20k on the engine & its stock bottomend & stock b16a head w/ cam gears. Rev it to 7200 daily driven & 8200 while on track. Im not kind to it.

Re: daily driven b20/vtec? (pest)
mr pest. I've been considering a 7200 rpm rev limit for my b20/v i'd like to build as well. I've been wondering tho, where the power of a stockish crvtec starts to drop off. Does it still pull hard up to 8.2k or can you notice a petering off somewhere?

ya, any times or dyno figures on your setup? thanks

Daily driven here, and a Sol, too! I have the exact same setup you are talking about, but we switched out the rod bolts with some ARP ones. Soon to be boosted................

yepper, i've seen those, but even the lowest one is all souped up and the tork line is strong up to 8k+. Nobody ever posts "stock" crvtec charts tho (which is probably as far as i'll go with my plans- if i wanted a gas guzzler, i'd just buy a v8 american car hehehe )

Re: daily driven b20/vtec? (daver)
My stock B20/VTEC setup is at about 173 HP to the wheels per Blitz Power Meter. Seems to be pretty acurate. No chart, though...

Re: daily driven b20/vtec? (escapist13)
I made 235 to the wheels with Spec B's. I have a built crvtec with JG pro series gsr head. I have yet to have any problems with it, very reliable
