D17 stroker
does anyone know if the d17 stroker is a decent build or just a waste of time? I have been looking at all the d17 stroker threads, and nobody ever really finished and dyno'd one... to my knowledge. The reason i ask is b/c i have a d16y8 and d17a1 internals.

Its a decent build if you are actually putting together something that is worth the while. What I mean is if you are really putting higher compression pistons, possibly sleeving for bigger bore, etc.
If you're just doing it to put together just for the hell of it since you have the parts around, then its not worth it. Its not as easy as just dropping in the d17 parts, you need other d17 parts to modify just to get it going.
We've done this setup a couple times. The customers actually put in the money to make custom pistons for them. Bigger 77mm bore, higher compression(12:1), etc.
All depends on how much power you're wanting and how much money you want to put into this setup.
