Default d16y8 swap

I have a 92 civic cx hatch. I called hasport and they told me all I had to do to put a d16y8 into my car was use the 92-95 civic ex(si) engine harness and ecu. Is this true or do I have to change other things? Please help I tried to search.

Yep. Thats true. All you need is the engine, tranny, harness, and ECU. That is of course assuming you still have the stock axles, shift linkage, and mounts.

That's partially true but they are being a little vague. You would want a 92-95 Si/EX P28 ECU but the engine harness isn't really necessary. You can reuse your stock harness and add the necessary wires and plugs from the Y8 harness if you have it. If not, then getting the 92-95 EX/Si/VX harness would really help. You will need to convert to a 4 wire O2 sensor and since your car is a 92 the VTEC wiring is already embedded on the cabin side.
You would also want to use OBD1 injectors, distributor and alternator for plug and play with the harness. You can use the OBD2 parts from the Y8 but you will need to repin/rewire those particular parts. Other than that, you can reuse your stock axles, shift linkage and mounts and the motor will fit just like stock.
