d16a6 into EJ6
Ok so i just bought a 97 dx and it needs a water pump and imputshaft bearing. Instead of working on the Y7 i sourced a a6 for pretty cheap with low miles and lsd tranny and stuff. To get to the point what is needed to complete this swap like wiring wise. Correct me if im wrong please but the a6 is Obd0 and the y7 is Obd2?
Use your Y7 distributor and injectors, use the A6 intake manifold with the A6 TB. You'll need to figure something out with the IACV, as the Y7 has a 3 wire IACV and the A6 is only 2 wire. Your Y7 ECU will not be able to control the A6 IACV correctly. You'll need to extend the wiring from the Y7 IAT to reach the IAT on the A6 manifold.
You do know that the input shaft bearing is part of the transmission, right? You also know that the A6 transmission will not work in your EK, right? The A6 transmission uses a cable from the clutch pedal to actuate the clutch, while your Y7 transmission uses a hydraulic system from the pedal to the clutch.
Sounds to me like you wasted your money buying the A6 stuff, when you could have just spent a few bucks, and a whole lot less time changing your water pump/timing belt/tensionner and replaced the input shaft bearing and you'd be done.

i was just gonna find a complete swap. My motor has 181xxx miles, no rebuilds or anything the guy is selling the a6 for a great price and it comes with with alot of extras. Plus it only had 60K original miles. But its too much of a hassle. If anyone has a ls or y8 in the arizona/socal area let me know lol.

If you really wanted that A6, it's an easy swap. Reuse your old manifolds and oil pump (A6 has no crank sensor), direct swap in. Power steering bracket has one hole that won't line up, but just don't put a bolt in that hole and you're good to go.
na i'll just find another swap. the tranny wont work. i moved out west about a month ago an where im from u can find a decent b18b for 500-600$ for the whole swap. out here they want 1200-1500$!
