D16 block with D15 head?

Default D16 block with D15 head?

k so im just fooling around bored, i got a d16 and d15. i am trying to swap the d15 head on to the d16 block. both engines are non vtec, i was just wondering if anybody has done this swap? any complications or anything they ran into? let me know. shoots, any input welcome... bam bam

i did it

you just have to swap the head

i used the d16 head bolts timing belt and head gasket and it runs like a winner

if i do it another one ill use a y8 head gasket and a 90-91 si cam

no way, thats sick. how did that work out? could i use d16 valvetrain in the d15 head do you know?

It's the same head casting, The d16 cam is different, which is what you need to keep in order for the timing to be right. If you keep the d15 cam, which is garbage, then it will be 4.5 degrees out of time and it will be weaker.

You cant re use the cam with the d15 head, the caps are way different,

what i did was i used the cam gear off the d16, and i still had to cut the distributor to get the thing in timing. the thing is workin pretty cherry, im just finishing up the turbo for it right no

Even though the d15 valve train set up is meant to take a lot more beating than a d16 but it's up to you I have a d15 head on a d16 block and it runs like a champ and acts like if I have a stage 2 a stage 3 clutch on it
