crvtec vs h22
it really all depends on you. they are pretty much the same when it comes to instalation. the b20 is a little easier but not much. me personally i'd go h22. not just cuz i got one in my hatch but i've seen what both do. have fun.
B20VTEC.... you'll most likely have to build it. Unless you find someone who has built one and is selling.
H22.... comes put together from Honda.
If you're not mechanically inclined, or have someone who is, I'd go H22. Even if you were I still would. But. That's my opinion.
Good luck with it though.

i dont mind building it up
i would actually enjoy it
which one would be more reliable and more power is what i should be asking
and im planning on going turbo which i heard works well on either one

It would probably be best to sleeve either if boosting. But not entirely necessary for the H22 under 10 lbs or so.

More reliable out of the box would be h22 hands down. You dont have anywhere near as many things to do to the motor itself to have your car up and running and on the road. As for power......... rofl...... crvtec aint nothing special when its done.
You're seriously talkin apples and oranges when you're talkin about these two motors. They couldnt be any more different.

i heard that the crvtec has ALOT of power and ALOT of torque
so what are the main power differences between the two motors

Well, i cant speak from experience, as ive never owned a crvtec, I also cant say they are ALL the same. But, I can tell you we had a guy locally with a crvtec setup, lots of bolt ons (IM, Header, built head.... lotsa ****) and he put down 167whp. I had a h22 in my coupe. I had CAI and a chipped p28 running chrome, so i was tuned, and i put down 191whp..........
So, you figure it out. I put down 191 with pretty much no mods, and he put down 167whp with all that crap. Now, granted he wasnt tuned, but.... even so..... 167whp? pfft.... no thanks. All that work and **** to show for it. I'll take an h22 over a crvtec any day.

he means you'll need more power to pull the 4 door since its heavier than a coupe or hatch. don't worry about it though, either motor will pull it just fine.

i went head to head with a semi built b20 on the freeway and it didnt impress me. all i had done to my motor at the time was jasma headers, str fuel rail, spoon exhaust with 2.5 piping (no cat) quife diff. and a cluitmaster stage three clutch with a lightened flywheel. he had pretty much everything done except turbo. like i said it did nothing to impress me. we started off with a 3rd gear 50 mph pull and the minute my vtec cracked i was gone. you cant go wrong with the h22 its strong right out the box.

wow
and ive been looking at H22's and they're quite expensive ( about 3 grand)
and i heard that they are harder to install and that they weigh about 200 pounds more than a b series

3 grand is a lot for an H swap, they are harder to install, but only weigh 50 lbs or so more than a b series. There is a lot of bs floating around about that swap, so don't believe everything you hear.

Everything, but turbo? So was it built low compression for a turbo?
Or did you mean he had I/H/E?

Into a Civic?!? Damn, I thought we were talking about Preludes. Don't do it into a Civic, the H22A weighs like 300 pounds!!!!
I did the H22A swap into a 2001 Prelude and it took me 36 hours total. I had 3 ASE techs and we did it in a real garage.
We bought the motor from some Laotian kid that sells stolen motors out of the back off a van. He didn't have a H22A in the van though, only ITR and K20 motors. So we had to drive a hour to his house and he had a few strippped Preludes in his backyard. We ended up pulling out our own H22A from a 2000 Prelude.
I was pretty pleased with the motor because it came with some sweet **** like an Weapon R cold air intake, Nology spark plug wires, and a chrome oil cap. Can't complain about that kinda sweet ****
.
I would never put it into a Civic though; there is just toooo much weight.

high compression. full skunk 2 valve train, aeris pistons, dc 4-2-1 headers. venem fuel rail, a hurricane or tornado something intake manifold. skunk two stage to cams and cam gears. biger injectors (not sure on size) holly fuel pump. their were some other **** in their. the point is i wasnt impressed. it was a monster in a quarter mile but just wasnt impressing me on freeway runs. thats what i like. high speed, i love it.

that's semi-built to you? sounds like he did everything but bore and sleeve the block. You also can't just slap a turbo on that setup. Not that it matters, he was lying to you about what he had. If he had that much work done he would have walked you from 50.

i helped build the motor so i know what i was up against. it probably had to do with the way it was tuned. he is one of those guys that just doesnt listen to people. he use to work with the venem race team and he thinks he is dr.honda himself. he liked drag racing so he had the vtec cracking at like 4k. like i said he was a monster in a quarter mile that is till some jack *** in a mitsibitchy evo8 pulled out in front of him at 115mph. all i was saying with the way i like runnig (freeway) i just wasnt into it. like i said earlier its all preferance and building.
