correctly built ls/vtec costs

Default correctly built ls/vtec costs

about how much u think it usually costs for a perfectly built ls/vtec (parts only)? im trying to do a comparison to see whether i should do a ls/vtec or just get a gsr long block. thanx

spend at least about $1500 on the rebuilt bottom end itself. tapping the head, resurface, head gasket, timing belt, other gaskets, and assorted belts and hoses. Steel braided oil line and all that additional $400
so about $2000 to do one up. not including the cost for the head and block cores.

go ahead and get the GSR longblock. ls/vtec isnt for the n00buliors. if you really want to do ls/vtec. read.

You can get the parts for a lsV cheaper than you can buy a gsr for. If you use the stock ls bottom end and a b16 head you can prolly find that stuff for around 900 plus the line and oil fittings 100. But if you are planning on building the bottom end of the ls you will be right there with gsr or more.

We do recommend that when doing any LS/B20 conversion with VTEC head to REPLACE THE OIL PUMP. old oil pump = bad ls/v
dont skimp out on this..........

Word. I bought a 2000 type r oil pump to put on my ls/vtec. Im going to have to get a new fuel pump too.

yes any B series DOHC VTEC oil pump would do from a GSR, Type R etc.
