Compression results
I recently ran a compression test on a B16A and my D16Z6. The B16A came up as:
#1=190 #2=172 #3=174 #4=162
D16Z6 was:
#1=170 #2=157 #3=164 #4=160
I didn't like what number 4 came up as on the B16. My motor(D16) has 100,000 miles on it. I'd like to pick up the B16 but am unsure about it. Motor runs great, no smoke. Both motors were warm. What I was wondering is should the motor be turned over the same for each cylinder or until the gauge stops for each cylinder? Thanks.

Yes, with in reason (turning it over 10 times to get a number is too many). The cylinders should be 10% of each other, so both motors are not in the best shape but the are ok.
Edit: the d16 is in pretty good shape

The number 4 on the b16 is questionable. As for what I would do personally, is I would probably pick up the b16 with the thought of a basic rebuild first. At least rings, bearings, gaskets, and pumps. As well the head would need to be checked, compression can be lost there as well. Goodluck.
