Default Civic Swaps?

hey guys, im looking to get a civic very soon, but im stuck on what swap should i do to it. i found a jdm f20b blue top for $650 and a h23a blue top for like $800. the whole reason im doing this is to beat one of my friends in a race. he owns a S2000. yes sounds crazy but with the right trans, motor, power to weight ratio i should get him. i mean my bud ricardo race adam(S2000) with his integra and ricardo bearly lost, maybe by a half a car at most. and in the integra is a b18b1 block with a b16a head( Ls vtec) and the motor is built to: crank, pistons, rods, valves, maybe cams, cam gears, legit cold air intake and other goodies. all im asking is which swap would be better for a civic and do you think is possible to beat this S2000 show off

Not trying to be a dick here but building a civic just so you can beat your buddies s2000 doesn't make a lot of sense. After(if) you beat him, then what? If you lose, then what? Just saying build your car how YOU want it and let the haters hate on. Build something you enjoy driving, doesnt have to be fast, or slow, or low, or clean, or whatever. Just something you put your hard work, dedication, sweat and blood into. A quick answer to your question is yes it can be done, IF you have the cash and knowledge to do so. As for what motor to use is a loaded question with H,F,B,D,K,J swaps available. You need to decide what your budget is as well. Just because the motor only costs 650, there is a slew of other things to buy as well. Trans. ECU, mounts, brackets, nuts and bolts, shift linkage, axles, etc. Not something to be taken lightly. Give an idea as to what the car will be used for (other than beating your buddies' s2000) and you may get more help. Good Luck to you.

You ain't gonna win because A. You can't even research. B. You chose 2 non preferred/u popular motors. But I will sell you the best H22 trans, shift box, cables, axles, and midshaft for $800

The goal is to have a fast civic. The s2000 is just a quick car to compare it to. And if i recall the h22 is a common motor swap. I see it everywhere but i can understand the f20b isnt.

Why would someone want a 2.0 liter when the can have a 2.2 with the extra tq? Nowadays the more common h22 swap is the h2b. Alot of the gripe around the h22 swap was the shifter cables. B-series trans solves that problem.

My hatch pulls on stock s2000's at the track. Its not that hard to "beat" them with a swapped civic.

I know the h22 has more torque but i don't see a lot of f20b swaps so i kinda do it for the uniqueness of having one but they do make the same hp.
