I bought a '95 GS-R cylinder head with a chipped P28, and I want to know which program is on it .. from visual inspection, the chip says 'JPR #P28 (B18C)', then there;s a 'W' and '8.5K' or '8.5lc' ... any ideas? The screws were all marked with pink marker.

I am guessing it is possible to remove the program in the event I wanted to go with Hondata as well? Thanks for the help.

it looks like a gsr rom with 8500 rpm rev limiter or fuel cut. if you want the ecu to work as stock again, open it up and cut the J1 jumper.

 

Thanks for the reply, should have guessed 8500rpm limit with that 8.5K hehe. I wish programmers would leave contact info or something on the ecu's!

 

yeah, they really should. it was probably some guy with a chip burner not labeling his stuff. check out pgmfi.org. that's a message board for ecu + wiring issues. post a pic of it and someone might be able to identify it.
